Fourth-year midfielder Chris "Shocker"
LaPierre was selected No. 2 overall in
the 2013 Major League Lacrosse Draft
by the Hamilton Nationals. He is the
16th Cavalier drafted in the first round
in the event's history, which is tied
with Syracuse for the most first-round
picks among all schools. The MLL Draft
started in 2002, and UVa has had at least
one first-round selection every year except for 2008.
LaPierre is a two-time All-ACC honoree and a two-time USILA All-American
(third team in 2011 and second team in
2012). The Medford, N.J., native is a solo
captain for 2013 — the first time that
has happened at UVa since 1981.
