football recruiting the nation) completed only 2 of 10 passes for 23 yards with an interception. Though one of his incompletions was a 25-yard touchdown pass dropped by five-star receiver Laquon Treadwell, Morris was a statistical clunker, with a 19.32 passer rating. The other two quarterbacks on his team combined for a 36.21 passer rating on the day, so he wasn't far off from the team average. McCray had offseason shoulder surgery on a torn labrum, and though he traveled to Florida and took part in the game's festivities he did not participate in practices or the contest itself. The 6-3, 230-pounder will be fully healthy by April and ready to participate in summer camp when he sets foot on campus. Semper Fidelis All-America Bowl Two Michigan commitments suited for the second annual Semper Fidelis All-America Bowl. Avon (Ohio) cornerback Ross Douglas and Westwood (Mass.) Xaverian Brothers defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. played for the victorious East team. Hurst is one of the lowest-rated members of Michigan's 2013 recruiting class, but he had a coming-out party in the game. He made one sack for a nine-yard loss among his four total tackles and also pressured the quarterback on three other occasions. He was a penetrating force on the inside and answered some of the questions that analysts have of his game. Douglas made two total tackles in the game and was responsible for locking down the opposing team's best receiver on most plays. For cornerbacks, the test of a single performance is often the stats that aren't accumulated, and Douglas' coverage prevented him from having many opportunities to make tackles. Several other Michigan commitments were selected to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, but opted not to participate. Wheaton (Ill.) St. Francis offensive lineman Kyle Bosch, Pickerington (Ohio) Central defensive end Taco Charlton, Novi (Mich.) Detroit Catholic Central running back/athlete Wyatt Shallman and Matthews (N.C.) Butler cornerback Channing Stribling all turned down invitations to participate in the game. Offense-Defense All-America Bowl Though none of Michigan's commitments participated in this game, two prospects took part. Arvada (Colo.) Ralston Valley offensive lineman Dan Skipper and Belton (Texas) tight end Durham Smythe both traveled to Houston to play in this game. Neither prospect accrued any statistics in the contest, in which the National Team defeated the American Team by a final score of 20-9. ❑  On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football recruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com.
