26 CAVALIER CORNER & VAF news notables Molly Mathews Molly Mathews joined the Virginia Athletics Founda- tion in January of 2019. As Director of Marketing and Communications, she leads the multi-channel marketing and communication efforts across the VAF. In addition to overseeing brand and marketing strat- egy, she supports the Directors, Stewardship, Annual Fund and Suites & Events teams in their efforts to communicate with donors and prospects. Originally from New Jersey, Molly graduated from UVA in 2003 with a B.A. in History and Art History. Following several years working at art galleries in Washington, D.C., she studied marketing and non - profit management at Columbia University, earning her M.A. in Arts Admin- istration. She moved to Charlottesville in 2015, joining the Alumni Interest Groups department at the UVA Alumni Association where she ran the mar- keting and events for over 40 alumni led organizations. Molly and her husband Brendan ('03) have one daughter, Genevieve. Abby Roberts Abby Roberts joined the VAF staff in October of 2018. As Stewardship Coordinator, she leads the effort to steward all VAF donors from concept to execution. Throughout this process, she coordinates every part of the creative process including planning, implemen- tation, research and measurement. She also works with VAF directors, the Suites and Events team and the management team to implement impactful stew- ardships initiatives. A native of Yorktown, Va., Abby earned a bachelor's degree in public rela- tions in 2015 and a master's degree in sport management in 2017 both from West Virginia University. She spent the last year and a half with the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation at Western Kentucky University as the Assistant Director of Donor Relations. Prior to WKU, Abby spent four years at the WVU Alumni Association as a Graduate Assistant and Intern. She founded the WVU Stu- dent Alumni Association.
