prep profiles Sophomore Wideout Will Have U-M In Mind Michigan's 2014 recruiting class has gotten off to a good start, with four early commitments. However, there's a long way to go, so it may be surprising that U-M has already gotten started on the 2015 class. However, the coaching staff has extended offers to nine prospects so far, and one of the most talented has a Michigan-bound teammate. Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell is a year younger than teammate Mason Cole, who has already picked Michigan. Cole could help lead the younger player to Ann Arbor. "Mason is recruiting me, but at the same time he understands that I have to do what's best for me and that I have a   East Lake coach Bob Hudson on Campbell "George is one of those kids you don't get very often. Michigan is happy to reel in Cole, an excellent offensive lineman, and the improved chance of landing Campbell is a big benefit, as well. The 6-4, 190-pounder is one of the country's top sophomores, thanks to his athleticism (he ran a lasertimed 4.4-second 40-yard dash at the Under Armour Junior Combine in Orlando, Fla., this January) and size. Class: 2015 Position: Wide Receiver Ht.: 6-4 • Wt.: 190 Hudson. "He's 6-4, he runs like a deer, but then he's physical. Actually, the last half of the season, he played wide receiver and then he'd turn around and put his hand in the dirt and play defensive end. He's so explosive off the edge and causes so much havoc in the backfield." Campbell used those physical tools to catch 30 passes for 766 yards (25.5 yards per reception) and five touchdowns as a sophomore, and he made 56 total tackles (six for loss) from his defensive end spot. Campbell visited Michigan with Cole in February and plans to return soon. That's good news for the Wolverines, because he doesn't plan to wait when it comes to making a commitment. "I actually do plan to get up there with my parents and let them check it out," he said. "After being up there all weekend, I really liked it, and I want to get them to check it out to see what they think about it. "I want to get my commitment out of the way. I'm thinking like the end of my junior year going into senior year. At the same time, if I don't decide by then, I'm going to take my time and figure out what's good for me." — Tim Sullivan
