the program, and you're around up‑ perclassmen that have done it already, it just sort of rubs off on you, and then by the time you're a junior or senior, it just sort of happens and you teach it to the next group of guys." A Streak Like No Other Year after year, Michigan has sim‑ ply found a way, and this team is on the cusp of extending the streak another year in incredible fashion. "Obviously the goal is to win the CCHA Tournament," senior center A.J. Treais said. "I was in a similar situation my freshman year and we pulled through, and I have the same feeling about this team." "We wanted to get to The Joe and then we want to do something when we get there," Berenson said. "That sounded like a lofty goal to a lot of people about six weeks ago. We knew it would be the hard way to get there. And here we are. "You have to give our team a lot of credit. They've been through a lot this year, and they've stuck together, and they're having fun and having some success. We're getting better. We have a little mojo right now and we're going to Joe Louis hopefully to have some more fun." There is no guarantee Michigan will beat Miami and then either Ohio State or Notre Dame. If U-M loses either game, it will see its season, and the streak, come to an end. If that happens, so be it. "I won't be despondent if it comes to an end," Harlock said. "It's an old cliché, but records are made to be broken and streaks will come to end. "The players on the team now might be more disappointed because they want to be in the NCAA Tour‑ nament, and I truly hope they make it and have the chance to feel what that's like, especially after the year they've had." The Maize and Blue live for an‑ other day. The streak yet remains in‑ tact. Some day it will end, whether it's this season or next year or in five years, and when it does, there will be no reason to be ashamed. "When it does end, then it ends, but it will have been a great ride," Stone said. ❑ Senior center A.J.
