athletics Inside Michigan Jordan Kovacs Wins Big On Pro Day M ichigan invited NFL personnel to Ann Arbor for its annual Pro Day March 14, featuring 12 former Wolverines hoping to impress scouts and increase their chances of earning a professional opportunity. Denard Robinson participated, but only ran through the position drills, while safety Jordan Kovacs may have been the big winner overall. Kovacs won a friendly head-tohead battle with Robinson, besting him in the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle, and will receive a dinner at Ann Arbor's Chop House restaurant, but more importantly he posted solid numbers, answering questions about his athleticism. "It was a good day, solid," Kovacs said. "We're training for the underwear Olympics. This wasn't football. I'm a football player. My whole mindset is I just need to get my foot in the door. I did it once. Did it here. Get my foot in the door and I'll make the most of my opportunity. That's how I approach it. "I don't need to be spoon fed anything. I'll go get it. I'll be a hard worker, a good guy off the field, and I'll be a leader. I hope there is a team that sees that. If not, I may have to recruit myself to their organization like I had Kovacs answered questions about his athleticism by clocking times of 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 6.62 seconds in the threecone drill and 4.19 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle in front of NFL personnel March 14. photo by lon horwedel to here.
