UVA is ranked No. 4 in the preseason national poll, one spot behind the Wolfpack. • ACC Championships, Feb. 26-29: NC State will be seeking its sixth straight conference title. This year's meet will be held in Greensboro, N.C. • NCAA Championships, March 25-28: NCSU is hoping for a fifth consecutive podium trophy. The national meet is in Indianapolis. Three Swimmers To Watch Senior Coleman Stewart Stewart won the national title in the 100 back- stroke in 2018, and was second in that race as well as the 100 butterfly last year. He also finished fourth in the 200 backstroke, but whether he con- tinues that event is questionable as head coach Braden Holloway noted that Stewart may concen- trate on some sprint freestyles this year. Stewart owns the school record for fastest 100 backstroke and butterfly. Sophomore Nyls Korstanje Never before had a NC State freshman swam less than 20 seconds in the 50 freestyle. Korstanje almost even went under 19. His best time last sea- son was 19.03 seconds, fourth fastest already in program history. Korstanje's fastest time in the 100 freestyle (41.91 seconds) is fifth best at NC State. The 2019 ACC Freshman of the Year was an All- American in both races last year. Junior Eric Knowles Knowles took a big step forward last season, winning the 500 freestyle at the ACC Champion- ships and then earning All-America accolades in the 1,650 freestyle at the NCAA meet. He also qualified for NCAA Championships in the 400 indi- vidual medley. Knowles has the program's second fastest time in the 500 freestyle, third fastest in the 1,650 freestyle and the fourth fastest in the 400 individual medley. Sophomore Nyls Korstanje was named the ACC Freshman of the Year last season. PHOTO COURTESY NC STATE MEDIA RELATIONS
