Bishop Sullivan High Bishop Sullivan has struggled through a 2-6 season. Meredith battled a knee sprain that he first suffered in a loss at former Pack quarter- back Russell Wilson's old school, Collegiate High in Richmond, Va. The 5-11, 175-pounder returned to rush for two touch- downs and picked off a pass in a loss Oct. 4 against visiting Fairmont Heights High from Capitol Heights, Md., but that would be his last action of the season due to his injury. Meredith is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 23 prospect in the state of Vir- ginia by Rivals.com. DEFENSIVE END PHELDARIUS PAYNE Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna Community College Lackawanna has emerged as one of the best junior college teams in the country, winning its first five games and climbing to No. 3 in the National Junior College Athletic Association poll. The 6-2, 270-pounder had contributed 11 stops (four solo), two tackles for loss, one pass broken up and one quarterback hurry. Rivals.com rates Payne, a native of Suf- folk, Va., as a two-star recruit. WIDE RECEIVER PORTER ROOKS Charlotte Myers Park High The 6-2, 180-pounder is NC State's highest-rated recruit at four stars, the No. 7 player in the state, and the No. 33 wide receiver and No. 156 prospect in the country. He has helped Myers Park be- come one of the top teams in North Carolina, sporting a 7-0 record and ranked No. 3 regardless of classifica- tion in the state. Rooks has recorded a trio of 100-yard receiving games for Myers Park. DEFENSIVE TACKLE JAYLEN SMITH Ahoskie (N.C.)
