She was the first Michigan player to ever participate in the event. In the first round of the shootout, Thompson notched 14 points (one point for a make, two points for bonus-ball makes) and advanced to the semifinals. Thompson improved on her first-round performance, scoring 15 points, including a perfect rack from the left wing. Unfortunately, she finished in third place among the four semifinal participants and was eliminated. Indiana's Aulani Sinclair scored 21 points in the finals to win the event. "It was all about having fun," Thompson said. "I just wanted to have a good time with this, and I really did. It was another opportunity for me to put on my uniform and represent Michigan. It was such a great experience, and I am so happy I had this opportunity."
