Thompson ranked fourth in the country in three-pointers made this season, behind Kansas State's Brittany Chambers (117), Oklahoma's Aaryn Ellenberg (115) and Missouri's Morgan Eye (112). MVP — Senior Guard Jenny Ryan: Sheffer and Thompson each had great performances in the Wolverines' first-round win over Villanova. But it was Ryan, Michigan's most reliable player all season, who came through in both games. Ryan compiled 24 points (13 versus Villanova and 11 against Stanford) on 10‑of‑12 shooting in the tournament. She also tallied eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in the two games. Ryan finished the year with career highs in points (336) and assists (167), and added 138 rebounds and 63 steals. She finished her career with 968 points (27th in program history), 696 rebounds (10th), 489 assists (second) and 291 steals (second). Notable Stat: The Wolverines finished the year with a 22-11 mark, tying a program record for most wins in a season (22-8 in 1999-2000). This season marks the fifth time ever that Michigan has notched at least 20 wins: 20-10 in 1989-90; 22-8 in 1999-2000; 21-14 in 2009-10; and 20-12 in 2011-12. By comparison, the Wolverines have had 16 seasons in which they won fewer than 10 games. It's also the first time in program history that Michigan has won 20-plus games in consecutive seasons. — Andy Reid
