Getz is once again the Royals' starting second baseman after outplaying Johnny Giavotella in the spring. "That was my goal," Getz told the Detroit News. "Obviously, I approached it just like any other spring training. You want to come out here and show them what you can do." Getz notched a .378 average (17 for 45) and a .940 OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage) in the spring, with three doubles and a home run. He scored 12 runs and drove in seven. He's also off to a solid start in the regular season, having hit .306 with four doubles, a triple and five RBI through 11 games.
