hoo's hot
the first for a non-offensive player since 1988 (goalie
Mike Schattner).
The Denver native led all first-years nationally with
25 caused turnovers, and only two second-years forced
more changes of possession than the UVa defender.
Scales appeared in each of the team's games, but didn't
start until the final nine games of the campaign.
Nick Sulzer ◆ Wrestling
The Cleveland native became just the second UVa
wrestler to earn All-America honors as a second-year
with an eighth-place finish. Sulzer fell in overtime
of his final match to drop to 27‑11 on the year. The
165-pounder has been to the NCAA Championships
and posted 27 victories
in each of the past two
years.
Sulzer combined with
fifth-year 157-pounder
Jedd Moore to give the
Cavs their 14th and 15th
All-Americans in program
annals, while it marked
just the fifth time the
team has boasted two at
the same time. Virginia
was one of just 21 pro‑
grams to boast multiple All-Americans in 2013.
