22 OCT. 31, 2020 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED Feature Performer: Entering the game, Notre Dame had one inter- ception the first four contests. It picked off three at Pitt, with Owusu- Koramoah and fifth-year senior cornerback Nick McCloud doing it back-to-back in a span of 2:08 in Pitt territory. The one by McCloud set up the Irish at the Panthers' 35- yard line. Coupled with two Pitt penalties, junior running back C'Bo Flemister scored on a two-yard run with 2:42 remaining for the game's final tally. Stats: Notre Dame outgained Pitt 135-30 in the quarter. The Panthers completed 1 of 7 passes for six yards with two interceptions. Items: After forcing a Panthers punt to open the second half, Notre Dame drove to Pitt's 2-yard line, but two incomplete passes (in- cluding a dropped interception in the end zone by safety Paris Ford) forced the Irish to settle for a 21- yard field goal by senior kicker Jonathan Doerer with 7:34 left to extend the lead to 31-3 … With 38 seconds left, Notre Dame inserted sophomore Brendon Clark at quar- terback, his first action this year. That tied the school record of nine straight running plays by the same player that Cam McDaniel set in a 41-3 win versus Miami in 2012. Feature Performer: In addition to Flemister 's record-tying amount of consecutive carries that helped him be the game's top rusher with 48 yards, senior rover Isaiah Pryor recorded three stops, a quarterback hurry, a sack and a forced fumble (recovered by Pitt). Stats: In addition to outgaining Pitt 434-162 in total offense, the Irish dominated time of possession 40:59-19:01.
