22 NOV. 7, 2020 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED sack of Sims that senior defensive tackle Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa recovered at Notre Dame's 35-yard line. A 14-yard scramble by Book on third-and-three and a 31-yard pass to McKinley set up Williams' four-yard score with 10:43 remaining to extend the advantage to 24-7. Feature Performer: Hayes re- corded his second sack of the quarter — forcing another fumble that this time was recovered by Tech — after the Yellow Jackets drove to a first down at the Notre Dame 14. He then nearly made another sack that sixth- year senior safety Shaun Crawford finished. The result on that drive was a missed 44-yard field goal by Jude Kelley with 2:31 left. Stats: Notre Dame had 367 total yards (196 passing, 171 rushing) while Georgia Tech had only 141 (88 passing and 53 rushing on 25 carries). Items: After Georgia Tech's missed field goal, a 34-yard pass from Book to McKinley and a 20-yard screen to Williams two plays later took the Irish down to the Yellow Jackets' 14- yard line as time expired in the third quarter … Sophomore linebacker Marist Liufau was ejected for a tar- geting penalty and will also be ineli- gible for the first half of the Clemson game … Sophomore defensive end Isaiah Foskey recorded a sack. FOURTH QUARTER NOTRE DAME, 31-13 Top Moment: Junior running back C'Bo Flemister, a Georgia native, tal- lied from three yards out with 12:59 remaining to give the Irish their larg- est lead at 31-7. Feature Performer: Just like at Pitt a week earlier, Flemister was the workhorse in the fourth quarter to keep the chains and the clock mov- ing. He carried 12 times for 48 yards over the final 15 minutes, highlighted by 20- and 10-yard scampers. Stats: The Yellow Jackets' total yardage output went from six in the first quarter, 60 in the second, 75 in the third and 97 in the fourth. Items: Notre Dame's streak of not allowing a touchdown for eight straight quarters ended when run- ning back Jordan Mason scored from one yard out with 7:15 remaining to conclude a 69-yard drive in eight plays. The two-point conversion at- tempt was a reverse that Hamilton smelled out and made the stop well short of the goal line … After that touchdown, the Yellow Jackets re- covered the onside kick when Wil- liams mishandled the ball while diving for it. But another Hayes pressure on fourth-and-14 ended the Jackets' drive at the Notre Dame 46- yard line. ✦ Sophomore running back Kyren Williams led the way for a balanced rushing attack, contributing a team-best 76 of Notre Dame's 227 yards on the ground while scoring two touchdowns.
