However, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on Oct. 27 that Abiara, 18, was charged with criminal trespass, according to Tarrant County jail and criminal court records. The article notes that the alleged incident occurred Sept. 27, and Abiara was released on a $10,000 bond. • West Bloomfield (Mich.) High's Donovan Edwards, the nation's No. 2 running back and No. 65 overall prospect in the 2021 class per Rivals, trimmed his list of 45 schools down to seven on Oct. 23. Making the cut for the 5-11, 193-pounder are Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State and Oklahoma. Most pundits agree that at this point Michigan holds the lead in Edwards' re- cruitment, and Georgia and Oklahoma are the top contenders to knock off the Wolverines. Notre Dame is likely in the next tier of schools and has plenty of work to do to pull off the recruiting upset. The Fighting Irish already have a running back pledge from Metaire (La.) Rum- mel's Logan Diggs, a Rivals three-star talent, and even if Edwards doesn't join the fold, the staff is considering taking a second ball carrier in the 2021 class. • On Oct. 25, the Irish staff dished out an offer to New Roads (La.) Catholic of Pointe Coupee class of 2021 safety Matthew Langlois, who ranks as a Rivals three- star recruit. The 6-1, 193-pounder was committed to Kansas State at the time Notre Dame offered him a scholarship. However, the next day Langlois flipped his pledge to LSU, ending his recruitment with Notre Dame before it could ever really start. We don't expect Langlois to be the last prospect in the 2021 class to receive an offer from the Irish. — Mike Singer Follow @BGI_MikeSinger on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com!
