commitment profile Film Evaluation Strengths: High school kickers are often inconsistent in their approach to the ball, but David takes the same steps each time. That allows him to strike the ball consistently and place it where he wants to. His accuracy will rely on simple practice, rather than luck. He has also practiced kicking off the ground, rather than a tee, at the high school level. That will make the transition to college easier, since he will have experience booting it off the turf. David is versatile enough to not only placekick, but also handle kickoffs and — if necessary — fill in as a punter. Areas Of Improvement: Although he has a 54-yard kick under his belt, David can continue to improve his leg strength. Simple maturation and growth will help him get there, but he also needs to dedicate himself in the weight room. While he's a multi-position (and multi-sport) athlete in high school, focusing exclusively on his special teams abilities in college will allow him to make the necessary improvements to his game. Michigan Player Comparison: Jay Feely (1994-98) wasn't the biggest kicker in Michigan history, but he hit plenty of big kicks. Feely has enjoyed a 14-year pro career thanks to his consistency. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
