  inside michigan athletics Team Canada. • A two-event national champion for the Wolverines this past year, rising senior Connor Jaeger touched the wall in first place in the 1,500-meter freestyle (14:53.34) at the Phillips 66 National Championships June 25, punching his ticket to the FINA World Championships July 19-Aug. 4 in Barcelona. He will represent the U.S. • An All-American in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 2013, placing fourth overall at the NCAA Championships, Sean Ryan won a gold medal in the 1,500-meter freestyle at the World University Games July 12 in Kazan, Russia. The rising senior touched the wall in 14:57.33, giving him the fifth-fastest time in the world this year. Classmates Kyle Whitaker and Michael Wynalda also competed in the World University Games for Team USA, taking fourth in the 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter freestyle, respectively. Copp nieves Big Ten Play • After spending its first three varsity seasons in the ECAC (including the upcoming 2013-14 year), the men's lacrosse team will join the newly formed Big Ten for the 2014-15 campaign. The men's league will feature the Wolverines, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland and John Hopkins (even though it is not in the Big Ten). On the women's side, the Maize and Blue, which are set to begin their status as a varsity program in 2013-14, will play Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers. Correction In The Wolverine 2013 Football Preview, we incorrectly identified a photo on page 60 as being returnman Gene Derricotte.
