fourth-Year Honor Cord Ceremony and Graduation Social
The seventh annual graduation social for fourth- and fifth-year student-athletes was held at the John Paul Jones
Arena on May 18. Co-hosted by the Virginia Athletics Foundation and Athletics Academic Affairs, this year's event
celebrated 130 student-athletes' accomplishments as graduating members of the Class of 2013.
Dirk Katstra, VAF Executive Director, opened the ceremony in which head coaches or their representatives presented graduating student-athletes in each sport with a special orange and blue honor cord to distinguish their
contributions to Virginia Athletics during Commencement. Director of Athletics Craig Littlepage also spoke at the
event where he expressed how proud he was of the student-athletes for their dedication shown both on and off the
field. He also thanked their families, coaches, faculty and academic advisors for helping them succeed.
