I
t's safe to say Brooklyn Borum met —
or perhaps even exceeded — expecta-
tions during her freshman campaign in
2021. The Sterling, Ill., native was the
only Cavalier to be named an ACC All-Fresh-
man Team selection and was voted Virginia
Sports Information Directors Rookie of the
Year among all first-year volleyball players in
the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The list of accolades should not be a
surprise to any fan of UVA volleyball since
she appeared in 28 matches, including 27
consecutive starts, and played in 98 of the
Cavaliers' 100 total sets as a six-rotation
