Following his first win at Virginia, Fralin Family
Head Football Coach Tony Elliott was presented
a game ball by his players. Elliott, who had other
head coaching offers during his 11-year tenure
as an assistant coach at Clemson, thanked the
team and said he was honored to be their head
coach.
"The call to confirmation I needed was to see
the joy in the locker room of those guys expe-
riencing victory and just pure joy, emotion and
appreciation for all the hard work that they put
in," he said after the Cavaliers' 34-17 season-
opening victory against Richmond Sept. 3.
