C O M Of the two, Nichols has visited the most, checking out Penn State four times already with a fifth trip ex- pected in late October for the White Out game against Minnesota. The 6-5, 240-pound edge rusher first visited for a junior day in January. He then returned in May for a personal visit and in June for a camp. His most recent visit afforded Nichols his first oppor- tunity to attend a game at Beaver Sta- dium as a recruit. "The fans were great, and I really liked being around the coaches before the game started," Nichols said. "Go- ing onto the field and talking to James Franklin when he had a game in 30 minutes, that was cool. "He was saying it was a great envi- ronment on game day and that I need to come down there as much as I can. They also played their whole D-line. They rotate a ton. I liked watching those guys mix it up." Nichols had an opportunity to see Dominic Nichols, a four-star 2024 defensive end from Ijamsville (Md.) Oakdale High, was one of 16 uncommitted schol- arship prospects on campus for Penn State's 46-10 win against Ohio on Sept. 10.
