BY CHRIS BALAS I f all had gone according to plan, Michigan running back Blake Co- rum would likely be prepping for the April NFL Draft Combine. He might also be leaving U-M after his junior year having won the Heisman Trophy, the Doak Walker Award (nation's top running back) and countless other honors, with no regrets. If we're being honest, he might have helped lead the Wolverines to a win over TCU in the College Football Playoff semi- final, as well. As good as sophomore run- ning back Donovan Edwards was down the stretch for Michigan, U-M didn't run the ball as well as hoped against the Horned Frogs in a 51-45 loss on New Year's Eve. Instead, Corum spent a good part of December and January rehabbing a knee injury suffered in the Illinois game Nov. 19. He confirmed on the "Rich Eisen Show" Jan. 10 that he had a torn meniscus and slightly sprained MCL that needed repair, and that he'd spent nights debating his decision whether to leave for the NFL or return to Michigan for one more year. After "a lot of prayer," Corum came to the realization that he wanted to go out the right way, announcing he'd be back at Michigan for his senior season. "I'm a Michigan man through and through. I love playing for the University of Michigan," he said. "I love going to the Big House and leaving it all on the field.
