4 THE WOLVERINE ❱ AUGUST 2023 THE WOLVERINE 2023 FOOTBALL PREVIEW MAGAZINE ARRIVES WITH GREAT FANFARE My favorite thing each year is when fans post where their football preview magazine arrived to! Chime in when yours shows up, and maybe even add a pic of where you're enjoying it! ClaytonSayfie Christmas came early. I'm halfway through. RudyGekko HAIL YEAH! Anon1632329104 The preview magazine is great, thank you to all involved. RyRyBlue Hoping mine comes soon. Going on vacation next weekend and it's always an annual read on the beach. Thanks for all the hard work and great writing you guys do! Always love it! NCGoBlue On cue, mine just arrived! Looks amazing. Meeeechigan Got mine today, the girls put it in the waiting room with the other mags. I had to go retrieve it. Dr.Wolverine Cleveland, OH — delivered, practically already read! Great job by all who work on this labor of love. Dwalto3 HELLO 'M POWER' Editor's note: On June 12, Michigan introduced its "M Power — Brand For Life" NIL program. For more details, see Chris Balas' feature article on page 18. This is what it's all about. Love the message they're sending. Life after football … so important for these kids to think about that. Great mission here! Hobart48 This is the first program to publicize a guaranteed stipend. This is going out from U-M Football itself, Jim [Harbaugh] himself. The bags at other schools are from boosters. The price tags might be higher but there's no other recruiting pitch where the head coach himself can guarantee salary. Everywhere else you run the risk of dealing with a slippery [Miami booster] John Ruiz or [disgraced pastor] Perry Noble. Leaders and Best is not just lip service here. It's a remarkable turnaround. Santa Monica Nice. Hopefully it comes over to basketball. Not fair Juwan [Howard] doesn't get the same support as Jim and football. Goblue445 I love that this approach mirrors how we have re- sponded to the Buckeyes (and other more modern pass-heavy offenses) by coming up with an antidote of our own. One that takes advantage of what Jim and the university are about — making differences in people's lives beyond just football, but, impor- tantly, winning on and off the field. Great potential here that plays well to our competitive advantages. Marinwolve Not many schools can touch the money that Michigan alums can provide when done correctly. This is huge news! 2hf5forneyb Well, the Ivies could, but let's just say I'm not exactly worried about the Harvard football team. Coach Maverick BOLD PREDICTION RE: CORUM & EDWARDS Donovan Edwards will comfortably lead the team in yards from scrimmage. And it's not that I think there will be some huge disparity in receiving yardage. (Of course, this is assuming both he and Blake Corum are healthy all season.) Anybody else have any hot takes? PurpleArgyle A U-M player wins the Heisman.
