10 ■ THE WOLFPACKER BY ETHAN MCDOWELL N C State has one of the better young pass catchers in college football in true freshman Kevin Concepcion, and it has continued to bolster its receivers room by prioritizing the position in its 2024 recruiting class. The Wolfpack added two more wide- outs to its class in recent weeks, earn- ing verbal commitments from three- star South Carolina prospects Jimmar Boston of Anderson and Christian Zachary of Saint Matthews. The Pack now has four receivers in its 20-player class, with four-star prospects Jona- than Paylor and Terrell Anderson hav- ing previously committed. Boston announced his decision on Sept. 5, a little over a month after vis- iting the school for the first time. A 6-foot, 175-pound standout at West- side High, he stopped by campus for the Alpha Wolf Showcase in July and left with both a scholarship offer and a positive impression of the program. Boston chose the Wolfpack over offers from Virginia Tech, Marshall, Connecticut and others, and said he was happy to be able to wrap up his recruitment. "It was relaxing, I guess, because I don't have to worry about the recruit- ing process anymore," he said. The coaching staff helped make his decision easier by explaining how he could play both inside and outside re- ceiver in the team's offense. Boston, who is rated by On3 as the No. 123 wide receiver nationally and No. 12 overall prospect in South Carolina, said his flexibility gives him more opportuni- ties to make plays. He said NC State fits him well on and off the field. "I will love to play there because I think they have a nice role for me, and I love the school, the stadium, the coaches, all of that," Boston said. He added that he does not plan on taking any official visits this fall. His recruitment, he said, is "shut down." Boston is playing through an injury right now, so he has prioritized his re- covery while looking ahead to an antic- ipated January enrollment at NC State. He said he's looking forward to getting his college career underway in Raleigh. "Get ready to win football games," he said.
