10 ■ THE WOLFPACKER BY ETHAN MCDOWELL N C State's football recruiting class underwent a rapid expansion in June, the first month of the 2025 cycle in which prospects were allowed to take official visits. From June 9-24, the class nearly tripled in size, with seven prospects announcing their intention to sign with the Wolfpack. By the time the dead period began on June 24, NC State had added commit- ments from running back RJ Boyd of Waycross, Ga.; wide receivers Arrion Concepcion of Charlotte, Jerel Bolder of Marshville, N.C., and Jamar Browder of Lake Worth, Fla.; and cornerbacks Cam Strong of Anderson, S.C., and Ca- den Gordon, also of Lake Worth and a teammate of Browder. All six players have received three-star grades in the On3 Industry Ranking, which averages the ratings of the four major recruiting websites. The Pack also landed a commitment on the first day of the dead period, with defensive lineman Omarian Abraham of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., choosing NC State over West Virginia and Pitt. Unranked by any of the major re- c r u i t i n g s e r v i c e s , t h e 6 - fo o t -2 , 280-pound Abraham had 75 tackles at American Heritage High last fall, in- cluding 14 for loss and 3 sacks. He was swayed in part by NC State's success at developing NFL-caliber players at his position. The Pack currently has seven defensive tackles in the league, which is tied for the second-most of any school in the country. Bolder, Boyd and Concepcion all an- nounced on June 23. Concepcion, the brother of NC State sophomore receiver Kevin "KC" Con- cepcion, was the first of the three to reveal his choice. Last year, in his first season as a full-time starter at Cham- bers High, he caught 51 passes for 640 yards and 9 touchdowns. The Wolfpack was the team to beat in his recruitment from start to fin- ish, but he also held offers from Vir- ginia Tech, Indiana and Miami. Listed at 5-10, 170 pounds, Concepcion is the No. 168 wide receiver nationally and No. 25 player in North Carolina, per the On3 Industry Ranking. Boyd chose NC State over Duke.
