RECRUITING NOTES • After watching games throughout the college football season, many high school juniors have started to narrow their recruitments and announce a list of favorites. Notre Dame remains in the mix for two coveted targets. On Nov. 20, Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay defensive lineman Karlos May told Rivals national recruiting reporter Hayes Fawcett he's focused on 12 schools: Notre Dame, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound May added his Notre Dame offer in September and has emerged as one of the program's priority prospects. In Rivals' rankings, May is the No. 92 overall player, the No. 10 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 3 recruit in Alabama in the 2027 class. A day later, on Nov. 21, Saint Charles (Mo.) Francis Howell Central tight end Jack Brown told Fawcett he's down to Notre Dame, Arizona State, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Texas A&M. Brown, a four-star, is another highly touted prospect, ranking as the No. 1 recruit in Missouri, and the No. 6 tight end and the No. 113 overall player nationally. May and Brown both visited Notre Dame for the Southern Cal game Oct. 18. After his first trip to South Bend, May told Blue & Gold Illustrated recruiting insider Mike Singer the Irish were "high" on his list. "I can see myself at Notre Dame," May also said. "I could ball out there." When the 6-4, 220-pound Brown released his top six, he praised the Notre Dame coaching staff's football acumen. "Coach [Marcus] Freeman, [Mike] Denbrock and [Harris] Bivin are my main coaches that I talk to, and they all seem like they know what they are talking about," he said. "They are all wise when it comes to recruiting and the X's and O's." Both May and Brown are located in SEC country, so the Irish will have to put their best foot forward in each recruitment. • Notre Dame also remains in the mix for another southern standout. On Nov. 16, Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove defensive lineman Deven Rob- ertson included the Irish in his top 10. The 6-1, 320-pounder is also still considering Florida, LSU, Miami, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M. When Robertson announced his top schools, he also revealed plans to commit at the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl Jan. 10. The game now allows high school juniors to participate, so Robertson will play and announce his decision the same day. According to Rivals, Robertson is a three-star recruit who ranks as the No. 15 prospect in Mississippi and the No. 45 defensive lineman nationally. Notre Dame is considered one of the favorites for his commitment, but it is not a foregone conclusion he'll end up in South Bend. Conversations with college coaching staffs over the next 4-5 weeks will shape his decision. — Kyle Kelly Saint Charles (Mo.)
