It starts with Earl "Curly" Lambeau, who started at fullback for Rockne's first Notre Dame team in 1918, then founded the Green Bay Packers a year later. Lam- beau coached the Packers from 1920- 49, winning six NFL championships. In 1960, Buck Shaw closed out his lengthy coaching career by leading the Philadelphia Eagles past the Packers, 17-13, for the NFL title in the only play- off game loss for Vince Lombardi. Crowe coached three Canadian Football League teams and won a Grey Cup with Ottawa.
