football recruiting ROUNDUP Recruiting Notes • A Notre Dame commitment is expected in October from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie. The original plan was for the three-star recruit to pledge to the Irish Oct. 6, but he has pushed back his announcement. He will take an official visit to Notre Dame Oct. 19 when the Irish take on USC and a commitment is expected that weekend. Rivals.com lists McKenzie, a 5-9, 167-pounder, as the No. 73 wide receiver in the country and the No. 77 prospect in Florida. • Cincinnati linebacker Justin Hilliard visited South Bend when the Irish took on Michigan State. The junior is one of the top prospects on Notre Dame's 2015 board. The 6-2, 225-pound defender is rated as the No. 43 overall recruit, the No. 3 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 1 player in Ohio in the class of 2015 by 247Sports. Notre Dame is at the top for the four-star recruit, along with Iowa and Ohio State. • Las Vegas four-star tight end Aliz'e Jones, the nation's No. 1 tight end in the class of 2015, will visit Notre Dame for its matchup against Oklahoma. The 6-4, 222-pounder is the No. 22 overall recruit in the country and the No. 1 player in Nevada. This will be his second trip to South Bend with the first coming in June for Irish head coach Brian Kelly's summer football camp. — Tom Loy Bradenton, Fla., four-star running back Bo Scarbrough, who is currently commit to Alabama, is keeping his options open and may make an official visit to South Bend for the USC game Oct. 19. photo courtesy 247sports Follow @TomLoy247 on Twitter, and for daily recruiting updates log on to BlueandGold.com.
