football recruiting "It's hard to stay humble, but I think I handle it real good. I'm used to it, but it's still great finally getting all the offers. It makes it more real for me. Schools would always tell me that I'll have an offer down the road, but it's nice to actually have them tell me that I could commit to their school whenever I want now." As a freshman, the University School standout caught 22 passes for 274 yards and one touchdown. At running back, he carried the ball 15 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns. On special teams at kick returner and punt returner, Bruce had 240 total yards and one touchdown. Now a full-time starter as a sophomore for the Sun, Bruce is looking forward to the increase in touches and chances to make plays for his team. "I really can't tell you how ready I am to start being the go-to guy," Bruce said. "I'm going to be that guy for the next three years, and I'm just going to do all I can to help the team win some games and put some points on the board. "It's going to be really hard to keep me off the field. I don't really get too winded, but I want to be out there as long as the game is still close. I'll leave the field once we start blowing the other team out." During the offseason, Bruce plays for the South Florida Express seven-onseven football team. Annually one of the nation's top teams, the Express is loaded with Division I talent on both sides of the ball. Head coach Brett Goetz has coached Bruce for two years and feels he will be one of the country's most explosive players by the time he starts his senior year of high school.
