A Fresh Start The heralded and closely knit 'Irish Mob 13' has provided important contributions in their first months on campus E By Andrew Owens arly in the recruiting process for the class of 2013, several Notre Dame commitments adopted the nickname "Irish Mob 13" as a tool to show other recruits the hype and solidarity of the class prior to its arrival at Notre Dame. The class not only had a flashy nickname, but also boasted the No. 5 class in 247Sports' recruiting rankings. They arrived on campus with high expectations for instant production. While not each heralded prospect has played yet for Notre Dame, 11 of the 23 freshmen saw the field in the first half of the season for head coach Brian Kelly's squad.
