USC game notes By Dan Murphy and andrew owens TJ Jones Playing Through Pain Two plays before he hauled in what turned out to be a game-winning touchdown catch late in the first half, senior wide receiver TJ Jones was crumpled on the Irish sideline. Jones had fallen on top of the football on an incomplete pass out of bounds on a first down attempt from midfield. He bruised his side and had the air knocked out of him, but returned after missing only one play. Senior quarterback Tommy Rees immediately looked his way again and connected for a spinning reception in tight coverage in the corner of the Irish end zone. The senior captain's biggest improvement this season has been learning to fight through those bumps and bruises and remain on the field. Red Zone EffIciency (Inside 20-Yard Line) No Poss.
