(Crespi)* Commitments in bold italics; * prospects offered from Oct. 3-17 Recruiting Notes • Norcross, Ga., five-star defensive end Lorenzo Carter has Alabama, Florida and Georgia sitting ahead of the Irish, but that could change soon. The 6-5, 232-pound recruit is close to scheduling an official visit to see Notre Dame during the Nov. 2 game against Navy. Carter's high school team has a bye that weekend, making it a perfect opportunity for him to head north to see the South Bend campus. 247Sports ranks Carter as the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2014 class, the No. 2 defensive end in the nation and the No. 1 prospect in Georgia. • Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Norcross, Ga., defensive end Lorenzo Carter is listed as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 player in Isaiah McKenzie had to reschedule his Notre Georgia, the No. 2 defensive end nationally and Dame official visit from the USC game Oct. 19 to the No. 14 overall prospect in the class of 2014 by the Navy game Nov. 2. Per NCAA rules, a school 247Sports. must have a copy of the student-athlete's SAT and photo courtesy 247sports ACT score prior to the recruit taking an official visit to the school. The electric 5-8, 170-pound athlete took his test, but the score hasn't posted yet. Once it is, McKenzie will be able to take his visit to South Bend. 247Sports ranks McKenzie as the No. 242 overall recruit in the 2014 class, the No. 31 wide receiver in the country and the No. 28 player in Florida. • Notre Dame continues to remain a possibility for Gardena, Calif., five-star athlete Adoree' Jackson. Many believe that the 5-10, 185-pound recruit will end up at Florida, Florida State or USC, but the Irish could make a move due to his local ties. Jackson is originally from Illinois and still has family in the area. Look for him to take an official visit to South Bend later this season. 247Sports ranks Jackson as the No. 19 recruit nationally in the 2014 class, the No. 2 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 player in California. — Tom Loy Follow @TomLoy247 on Twitter.
