Ten Questions With Staats Battle Why did you choose number 30? In high school, it was my number, but just a generic number. Then in college, I was a walk-on so I just kept it. I didn't really want to go out of my way and pick a certain number. What's your favorite spot to shoot from on the court? Probably the left wing three. What was your favorite NBA team growing up? The Chicago Bulls. If you could go back in history and meet any person from the past, who would it be? Biggie Smalls (rapper The Notorious B.I.G.). Who has been your biggest role model in basketball? Steve Kerr. Android or iPhone? iPhone. Where would be your dream vacation? Once I graduate — to watch NC State play in the Maui Invitational. Who is the greatest basketball player of alltime? Michael Jordan. If you couldn't be a professional basketball player, what would you like to be when you finish college? In my fantasy world, a professional ping-pong player. I love ping-pong, but in the real world, a financial advisor. Who has the best twitter handle of the team? I like Ralston's, his name is RoTurn22, even though I don't understand why he puts 'Ro,' when his name is spelled 'R-A.' But he goes with RoTurn and I like that one. Ten Questions With Chris Brickhouse Why did you choose No. 15? I had the choice between 15 and 33, and I just liked 15 a little more. What's your favorite spot to shoot from on the court? Probably right under the rim, I like dunking it more than shooting it. Who was your favorite NBA team growing up? I did like the Magic for a while when Dwight Howard was there, and I liked Jameer Nelson, too, but I don't really have a favorite now. If you could go back in history and meet any person from the past, who would it be? I've got to say Babe Ruth, one of the greatest of all time. Who has been your biggest role model in basketball? Probably Dwight Howard. Android or iPhone? iPhone. Where would be your dream vacation? New Zealand. Who is the greatest basketball player of all time? Michael Jordan. If you couldn't be a professional basketball player, what would you like to be when you finish college? Something with business, marketing or public relations. Who has the best Twitter handle on the team? I don't know, Staats Battle (@sbattle_30)? photos by ken martin Ten Questions With Chase Cannon Why did you choose number 25? One of my favorite players in the NBA is Chandler Parsons with the Houston Rockets, and he wears No. 25. If I grew about four inches, I wouldn't mind playing like he does, but I like him a lot. What's your favorite spot to shoot from on the court? About four feet behind the right wing. Who was your favorite NBA team growing up? I grew up in North Carolina, so I have to say Charlotte, but growing up, I didn't actually follow basketball a lot. It wasn't until later on, and recently it's been Golden State. If you could go back in history and meet any person from the past, who would it be? I'm going to go with Ben Franklin. I was a little bit of a history nerd in high school. Who has been your biggest role model in basketball? I feel bad saying it because I play for State, but I used to love J.J. Reddick of Duke. Growing up, I was always a shooter, so I tried to play the same exact way he did. Android or iPhone? Team iPhone all the way. Where would be your dream vacation? I've always wanted to go to Spain. I'm real big into Spanish, and I'm actually minoring in it here. I'd love to go to Barcelona. I was so jealous that some of these guys got to go last year. I wish I could have made that one. Who is the greatest basketball player of all-time? Michael Jordan is a pretty obvious answer, but I'm a little biased. I loved Larry Bird because he wasn't the stereotypical basketball player, but he was one of the best. If you couldn't be a professional basketball player, what would you like to be when you finish college? I'd love to be a food connoisseur. I love food, and I pretty much eat anything. I've tried all kinds of crazy, off-the-wall foods, so it would be pretty cool to travel around and just try different foods. Who has the best twitter handle of the team? Nobody has really a crazy name, but Staats and I have the whole #BattleCannon hashtag going on. I'm pretty biased, but #BattleCannon is pretty tough. 64  ■  the wolfpacker 48-50,52,54,56,58-60,62,64,66.Men's Bios.indd 64 10/22/13 12:35 PM
