Ba ketball Preview 2013-14 Meet The Pack Bios Of The 2013-14 NC State Men's Basketball Team ■ BeeJay Anya 21 • PF/C Fr. • Gaithersburg, Md. • 6-9 • 325 Analysis: A long-armed (7-9 wing span), wide-body, low-post presence that will be counted on to give some minutes this fall. How much, though, will depend almost entirely on how well-conditioned Anya can get before the season starts. Anya has the physical abilities to be a good rebounder and defender, and is also a strong finisher around the basket. However, how quickly he can get to his peak playing weight of 275 pounds will directly influence how much he plays. Career Highlights: Was rated by Rivals.com as the No. 58 player and No. 5 center in the 2013 class … Three-year starter for famed DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Md., and two-time All-Metropolitan selection by The Washington Post … Averaged 13.3 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.8 blocks while shooting 71.0 percent from the floor as a senior, after averaging 13.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and a school-record 6.8 blocks per game during his junior campaign … Averaged 6.3 points per game for a gold medal-winning USA Basketball squad in the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship in Lithuania … Played in the Nike Global Games during the summer of 2012 and then the Capital Classic and U.S. vs. Florida allstar games last spring … Was a teammate of classmate Lennard Freeman on the Team Takeover AAU team.
