"And right now she's being tugged both ways because we're looking at her not only at the three but the four position." Newcomer Ashley Williams, a 5-8 freshman from Cary's Green Hope High School, is a walk-on with a strong threepoint touch that should earn her some minutes, according to Hill. She will join returning 5-11 sophomore walk-on Kaley Moser as backups and important practice players. The final member of the Pack's ninestrong guard contingent this year won't be able to play — at least until November 2014 — due to NCAA transfer rules. Sophomore Dominique Wilson, a fourstar prospect according to ESPN HoopGurlz as a senior at McEachern High School in Georgia, played 33 games as a freshman at Arkansas last winter, averaging 6.6 points and 2.3 rebounds a contest. ■ 2013-14 NC State Backcourt No.Name 12 Krystal Barrett 2 Len'Nique Brown 10 Ashley Eli 1 Myisha Goodwin-Coleman 30 Kaley Moser 3 Miah Spencer 4 Ashley Williams 5 Breezy Williams 22 Dominique Wilson Pos. "She's instant offense," Hill said. "She knows the game, can shoot the three or put it on the floor. And with us losing six seniors this year, she'll be a big help with the new players next year after being able to experience a year in the ACC." Though it's a veteran group that has to adjust to new coaches, a new system and new responsibilities, Hill feels the Pack's perimeter corps is headed in the right direction. "Sometimes we as coaches want things quicker than they can deliver," he said. "But they're working hard, and that's the No. 1 thing. They really are trying to improve. If we can do that each day, we'll be OK — it's the kind of attitude we have to have, to be able to come out and try to get better, because that shows that they are buying in to what we're trying to do." ■ 78  ■  the wolfpacker 76-78.Women's Backcourt.indd 78 10/22/13 2:46 PM
