The former highly touted recruit will have to sit out this season for the Pack per NCAA transfer rules, but should be a valuable contributor starting in the 2014-15 season. Career Highlights: Started 52 of 69 career games at Alabama … Led the Tide with 62 made three-pointers as a sophomore and was the only player to start every game for them last season … Also had a team-high 115 assists and was second on the squad with 51 steals … Had a career-high 23 points and five made threepointers against West Alabama … Also had 20-point games against Oregon State and Texas Tech … Had a season-high 19 points against Georgia as a freshman … Coming out of Butler High School, was ranked No. 24 nationally in the 2011 class by Rivals.com … Earned Parade All-America honors and was a two-time Mr. Basketball selection in Alabama, one of just two players to have earned that honor multiple times … Averaged 31.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.6 assists a game as a senior … Led Butler to three state titles during his career. Coach's Corner: "I think he's going to be a really good player. He's a little heavy right now and needs to shed some weight. My hope for him is that he is going to take advantage of that redshirt year, meaning that he is really going to improve his body, learn our system, improve as a player. He's got to go from 225 down to 210 to be a high-level, elite guy in my opinion, but his basketball IQ, skill set, understanding of the game, he's an elite guy. We're excited he's here." — Head coach Mark Gottfried STATISTICS Year G-GSMPG PPG RPG APG FG%3FG%FT% 33-16 24.7 7.3 3.0 1.8 41.430.179.7 2011-12* 2012-13* 36-36 31.311.3 3.8 3.2 39.237.371.8 * At Alabama Ten Questions With Trevor Lacey Why did you choose No. 1? I originally wanted No. 5, but Desmond Lee signed before me and was able to get No. 5. No. 1 was just my next option, and I think it will be a good fit for me. What's your favorite spot to shoot from on the court? My three-point shot at the top of the key, straight on. It's an easier shot, and you can tell which way the ball is going to get an offensive rebound, or to tell your teammates left or right. Who was your favorite NBA team growing up? I didn't have one. If you could go back in history and meet any person from the past, who would it be? Martin Luther King Jr. Who has been your biggest role model in basketball? LeBron James. Android or iPhone? iPhone. Where would be your dream vacation? Going to Jamaica. Who is the greatest basketball player of all time? LeBron James. If you couldn't be a professional basketball player, what would you like to be when you finish college? A detective on the forensic science side, who solved crimes.
