He will compete with freshman guard Anthony 'Cat' Barber for the starting point guard job left vacant by Lorenzo Brown. Regardless of who starts, both Lewis and Barber will probably play lots of minutes. Lewis is a crafty point guard with good court vision. He is good at getting his teammates involved and takes care of the basketball (assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.2:1 as a freshman). He has added 15 pounds to get stronger, which should help him defensively. Lewis will also need to improve on his three-point shooting so defenses have to respect his jumper.
