Ba ketball Preview 2013-14 ■ Ralston Turner 22 • G R-Jr. • Muscle Shoals, Ala. • 6-5 • 205 Analysis: Turner, a transfer from LSU who had to sit out last season per NCAA rules, is expected to take the place of departed wing Scott Wood in NCSU's lineup. While very few could replicate Wood's shooting, Turner was a solid three-point marksman at LSU, making 95 in two seasons. Given his experience as a two-year starter for the Tigers in the SEC, Turner should be ready to step into a major role right away for the Pack. Career Highlights: Turner played in all 33 games for LSU in 2011-12, averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game … He scored in double digits in each of the last four games, which included two SEC Tournament games and the NIT opener, and finished with 13 games in which he scored at least 10 points … He improved his three-point shooting percentage from 32.3 percent as a freshman to 36.2 percent … His free throw shooting also increased from 70.3 percent to 75.4 percent … Started all 27 games he appeared in as a rookie, while missing five contests with a "stress reaction" … He tallied a team-best 12.8 points-per-game scoring average and scored 21 points in his college debut against Northwestern State … He set his career high later in the campaign with 23 against McNeese State … Rivals.com listed him as a threestar prep recruit, ranking him as the No. 28 small forward and the No. 142 overall prospect in the class of 2010 … Scored 2,502 career points at Muscle Shoals High School. Coach's Corner: "From day one of practice this year, he knew everything that we run offensively and defensively, so that's an advantage." — Head coach Mark Gottfried Personal: Member of the National Honor Society and also won the National Scholar-Athlete Award from the United States Army Reserve.
