The Irish needed a come-from-behind victory to keep their season-long unbeaten streak alive against
North Carolina State Oct. 19. Sophomore Patrick Hodan, just back from an injury, and junior Max Lachowecki scored in the second half against the Wolfpack to secure a 2-1 win.
The No. 2-ranked Irish were one of three unbeaten teams left in the nation heading into the final two
weeks of regular-season play.
Women's Soccer (9-5-1, 5-4-1 ACC)
No. 20 Notre Dame's losing streak reached four games with a 2-1 overtime loss to Duke Oct. 20. Freshman Rilka Noel had the lone goal for Notre Dame.
The Irish climbed as high as fifth in the national polls before bottoming out in October. They lost three
straight contests in the final five minutes of overtime or regulation. They wrap up the month with games
at Clemson and at Florida State before starting the ACC Tournament in November.
Volleyball (8-11, 2-6 ACC)
After scraping together back-to-back conferences wins — their first two victories in the ACC — the Irish
ran into No. 19 Florida State Oct. 20 and lost in three straight sets.
An upset win over Miami pulled Notre Dame out of the basement off the ACC standings five days
earlier. The Irish have yet to reach the halfway point of the conference schedule with 12 games left on
the slate.
