While Ringer suffered a knee injury and ultimately transferred to Ferris State, both Bolden and Wilson parlayed their early enrollment into playing time as true freshmen. The 2013 class saw six early enrollees. Offensive linemen Kyle Bosch and Logan Tuley Tillman, tight end Jake Butt, defensive end Taco Charlton, and defensive backs Ross Douglas and Dymonte Thomas all joined the team in January. Once again, that has translated to early playing time for many. Bosch has already been drawn into the starting lineup — rare for a true freshman in the trenches — while Butt is playing extensively as the second or third tight end in U-M's rotation. Charlton and Thomas have seen spot playing time on defense and special teams, while Tuley-Tillman and Douglas are likely redshirting. The 2014 signing class will see an even bigger group of early enrollees, with seven players ready to join the Maize and Blue this January. Thanks to a new NCAA rule, six of them have already signed scholarship agreements with the Michigan athletic department (previously, they would have had to wait until after high school graduation), though the agreements are not binding like a National Letter of Intent would be.
