michigan recruiting Academy teammates Freddy Canteen, a four-star wide receiver, and Brandon Watson, a three-star cornerback, have both signed their scholarship papers to head up to Ann Arbor for the start of the winter semester. So too has Richmond (Va.) Collegiate School three-star quarterback Wilton Speight. St. Clairsville (Ohio) linebacker Michael Ferns, Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake offensive lineman Mason Cole, and Grand Rapids (Mich.) Christian wide receiver Drake Harris — all four-star prospects — have signed their scholarship agreements, as well. The lone holdout thus far is Salt Lake City Highland defensive tackle Bryan Mone. The 6-4, 315-pound four-star prospect is waiting on his mid-year graduation to sign his scholarship papers to head to Ann Arbor. However, like the six classmates mentioned above, he plans to be on campus for the winter semester. Miscellaneous Notes • A handful of Michigan's 2014 commitments have hit the injury list over the course of the season. St. Clairsville (Ohio) linebacker Michael Ferns and Warren (Mich.) De La Salle linebacker Jared Wangler have both dealt with shoulder injuries. Ferns is expected to be fully healthy for his team's state playoff run, while Wangler will miss De La Salle's first two playoff games with his separation of the AC joint. Grand Rapids (Mich.) Christian wide receiver Drake Harris has not played during his senior year while a partial hamstring tear heals, but he plans to return for the state playoffs. Kenton (Ohio) linebacker Noah Furbush has played through a broken hand, but will require surgery in the postseason. • Paramus (N.J.) Catholic five-star cornerback Jabrill Peppers is a candidate for the USA Today Gatorade National Player of the Year award. The Michigan commit led his team to its first-ever state title last year and has the Paladins on a similar track in 2013. Uncommitted prospects Da'Shawn Hand, a defensive end from Virginia and Rivals.com's top player nationally, and Leonard Fournette, a fivestar running back from Louisiana, are also both candidates for the award. • Only one Michigan commitment and one uncommitted prospect have taken official visits to Ann Arbor this fall. Salt Lake City Highland defensive tackle pledge Bryan Mone, a four-star prospect, made his official trip for the Under The Lights II game against Notre Dame. So too did Hand, the country's top overall prospect. The majority of Michigan's commitments will official visit Ann Arbor after the conclusion of the season in early December, similar to what the 2012 and 2013 signing groups did in the previous two years. • Michigan's 2015 class picked up all six of its commitments in a span of less than two months and hasn't seen much action since. Massillon (Ohio) Washington kicker Andrew David got the flurry of pledge started June 24, followed shortly thereafter by Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep offensive lineman Jon Runyan Jr. The next two commitments once again came within days of each other, when Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern five-star running back Damien Har-
