  inside michigan athletics   Sitting Down With Soccer Senior Forward Nkem Ezurike Senior forward Nkem Ezurike is one of the most accomplished and decorated players in the history of Michigan women's soccer. She scored her 45th career goal Oct. 24, setting the program record. The Wolverine: How have you seen this program grow over your four years, to the point where you're on the verge of a possible Big Ten championship? Ezurike: "We have come a long way since I came in as a freshman. Every year, we're just trying to get better and better with new players coming in. Our goal is to always improve on what we did the year before, with wins, goals, our style of play, technique, everything. We're just trying to build year to year." The Wolverine: What originally pushed you toward Michigan? Ezurike: "When I was getting recruited and looking around, Michigan wasn't having the best season. But after talking with [Michigan coach] Greg Ryan and [associate head coach] Dean Duerst, they had a lot of faith in the program, and I decided, 'Why not come to a program and be a part of that transition?'"
