michigan recruiting (Va.) High defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, the No. 1 player in the country. Michigan was the runner-up to Alabama for Hand's services. The U-M pledges will have a chance to get acquainted with the player who could have been their teammate. Some of them, especially the threestars, will have the opportunity to boost their rankings at the event, as well. Speight, Bushell-Beatty and Wangler are all hoping to climb from threestar status to the realm of the four- stars. Bushell-Beatty, in particular, has a good chance to improve his stock. He is a relative newcomer to football and has improved quickly in his two years on the gridiron. If he can keep that up against top competition in Florida, he can make a leap in the rankings. ❑ On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football recruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com.
