where I really want to be. I know it's a
while until National Signing Day, but
I'm Irish all the way and I'm excited.
"The Notre Dame coaches, [defen-
sive backs] coach [Kerry] Cooks, and
everything I saw when I went up there
on my visit went into this decision.
They've also had a lot of success with
receivers. I really couldn't find any-
thing wrong with Notre Dame."
Allen (Texas) High offensive coor-
dinator and wide receivers coach Jeff
Fleener believes the Fighting Irish are
getting a player that will leave a mark
before his time is done in South Bend.
"I couldn't think of a better player to
fit the Notre Dame mold [more] than
Jalen," Fleener said. "He's got a great
work ethic — he works hard every day
at practice. I couldn't be more excited
for him and his future at Notre Dame.
He's fun to be around, and he's just a
great kid.
"I actually think he's just scratched
the surface for how good he can really
be. If you look at his numbers from
this past year, he had about 40 catches,
450 yards and two touchdowns in 10
games. Then, in the six playoff games
against the best competition we had
faced all season, he had 22 catches, 611
