Notre Dame began recruiting Far-
rell — who is a three-star recruit, the
No. 61 point guard in the land and the
No. 12 player in New Jersey according
to 247Sports — heavily about a month
prior to his commitment. Assistant
coach Martin Ingelsby attended some
of Farrell's AAU games last summer,
and Brey watched him play in person
March 4 before extending the offer five
days later.
"Coach Brey told my dad … 'I'm not
recruiting your son to be a role player.
I'm recruiting him to be my point
guard,'" Farrell said. "He told me after
the game, 'The way you get in the paint
and get in the lane and make people
better and pass is an incredible asset.'
He thinks I can fit well in their offense.
"I can't really say what my role will
be until I get out there and see what I
can do. [But] it's definitely exciting."
With Eric Atkins graduating this
spring, freshman Demetrius Jackson
247Sports rates Farrell as a three-star prospect, the No. 12 player in the Garden State and the No. 61
point guard nationally.
