ster as well, he credits his acting career for making him a better football player. He has also remained close with the leading star of the movie, Jamie Foxx. "Growing up as an actor, I think that helped me with football throughout my life," he said. "I think it prepared me for football, as far as studying film, pre- paring for games, staying focused, and staying calm and in the zone. "I still keep in close touch with Jamie. I call him Uncle Jamie. Now that I'm in California, he said he's going to start coming to my high school games and being around more. It's real good." With the commitment, Notre Dame now has eight recruits committed for its 2015 class. Sanders is focused on better- ing his relationships with the other com- mits and also recruiting other top talent to join him in South Bend. "I'm going to reach out to [2015 Notre Dame quarterback commit] Blake Bar- nett and try to talk to him and just be- come cool with him," Sanders said. "I'm also going to talk to Coach Booker and see who they want me to start recruit- ing, and I'll start seeing who I can talk to. I do know that they really want [2015 wide receiver target] Cordell Broadus a lot. I'll be on him and anyone else they want me to talk to." Sanders said that his recruitment is over. He's happy with his decision to at- tend Notre Dame and plans on signing with the Irish next February. "It's all Notre Dame for me," he said. "I'm as solid as you can be here." Sanders chose the Irish over offers from Duke, Ohio State, Stanford, Ten- nessee, Vanderbilt, USC and others. Sanders, who is the son of former Ohio State and Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chris Sanders, is one of the faster offensive targets on Notre Dame's recruiting board. He put his speed on display last year on the track. Prior to moving to California, Sanders finished second in the 100-meter dash in the Ten- nessee state finals with a time of 10.64. During his junior season at Brent- wood (Tenn.) Academy High School, Sanders grabbed 52 passes for 738 yards and 12 touchdowns. 247Sports lists him as the No. 37 player in California and the No. 40 wide receiver in the class of 2015. ✦ SPECIAL OFFER 2014 Notre Dame Football Preview only $8.00 * with Subscription Order Free shipping in U.S.! *Sales tax added in IN, MI, and NC Offer Expires 6/15/14 Ships in July 2014 800-421-7751 www.comanpublishing.com 2014 FOOTBALL PREVIEW ISSUE back in the SADDLE Quarterback Everett Golson is right where he belongs: under center for Notre Dame $11.95 ✦ WWW.BLUEANDGOLD.COM
