C
hange has been a pri-
mary theme the past
six months with Notre
Dame's football team.
New coordinators on
both sides of the ball, two
new quarterbacks after
Tommy Rees and An-
drew Hendrix were the
top duo last season, and
two new running backs
after George Atkinson III
and Amir Carlisle were
one-two at this time last
year. No more Louis
Nix III and Stephon Tuitt
on the defensive line, nor
mainstays Zack Martin
and Chris Watt on the left
side of the offensive line,
plus reconstruction at
linebacker and tight end.
Perhaps change was
best manifested dur-
ing the spring when
head coach Brian Kelly
made an unprecedented
a m o u n t o f p o s i t i o n
changes, particularly on
defense, although some
might be just tweaks.
