The 6-6, 253-pound Clark has primarily been a pass- catcher for his Avon Old Farms team — he caught 34 passes for 410 yards and seven touchdowns in just 10 games as a junior — but has the frame to grow into a dominating run- blocker, as well. With U-M's strong recent history in the form of junior Devin Funchess and sophomore Jake Butt, Ann Arbor is quickly turning into a tight end factory. The natural skepticism of fans leads to an obvious question: if Clark has already made one decom- mitment, what's to guarantee that it doesn't happen again? He insists that, having seen everything he wanted in the process, his second pledge will be the final one. "I'm 100 percent sure, because I finally visited all of the schools that I wanted to see," he explained. "Mich- igan State was the last school that I hadn't seen that I wanted to see. When I committed to North Caro- lina, there were so many schools that I hadn't visited yet — Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, even Michigan State — so after seeing them all, ev- ery single school that I was interested in, it made it so much easier to make a decision and know this is where I'm going to end up going for college. "I know what all of the schools have to offer, and I know Michigan's the best school for me. I'm 100 per- cent, I'm committed, and I'll be sign- ing with Michigan." His relationships with Michigan commitments helped Clark feel at home. Class of 2015 quarterback pledge Alex Malzone unofficially visited campus the same day Clark made the trip, and the conversations between the two helped the tight end realize that Ann Arbor is his future. "I've talked to him a bunch over the last couple months," Clark said of the four-star passer. "That was the first time we met in person. We really didn't talk much about football. We were just hanging out talking about what high school kids would talk about and chilling. I really like him a lot, so that definitely was a factor in the decision, that he's a kid I just feel really comfortable with. I knew a couple kids in the class already, so it was just good to put a face with the name."
