nounced a depth chart that featured former right guard Jay Whitmire, a redshirt third-year, at left tackle with second-year Eric Smith keeping his starting spot at right tackle. On the inside, second-year Eric Tetlow seems destined to be the heir apparent at center while fourth-year Connor Davis and redshirt third-year Ross Burbank seem lined up to be the guards. Also in the mix will be second-year Sadiq Olan- rewaju at tackle and fourth-year Cody Wallace at guard. There's a lot of ability among this group but its one that must also jell and do so quickly. Other- wise, life will be increasingly more difficult for Lambert under center, and for redshirt fourth-year Kevin Parks and second-year Taquan Mizzell in the backfield. 3. How bad does losing Jake McGee hurt? Last season there was one clear playmaker on of- fense, and after spring ball that player, tight end turned receiver Jake McGee, decided to take his talents south. After graduating from UVa in May, he enrolled at Florida and will finish out his eligi- bility as a Gator. That leaves UVa thin at tight end, but it remains to be seen how impactful the position will be. With redshirt fourth-year Zachary Swanson re- turning to fill the more traditional tight end role, how badly UVa misses McGee will largely depend on how well the receivers produce. 4. Can UVa "win" the turnover battle? In 2013, the Cavaliers were able to force more turn- overs than they had the year before. Unfortu- nately, the offense turned it over at a relatively similar clip and then couldn't do anything with what the defense gave them. That cost them several games, especially the losses at Maryland and at home to Georgia Tech. Needless to say, for UVa to be successful in 2014 the Wahoos will have to protect the ball and find a way to flip not just field position but also score points on defense. Greyson Lambert, a redshirt second-year, seized the starting quarterback job in the spring and completed 18 of 31 passes for 220 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Orange-Blue Game.
