No. 158 overall player in the class of 2015 by Rivals.com, and he has received offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M and USC, among many others. WIDE RECEIVER Need: 2-3 Commitments: 1 — David Eldridge, Nokesville (Va.) Kettle Run. At 6-0, 165 pounds, the three-star wideout is a perfect compliment to some of the bigger pass catchers that UVa has signed in recent classes. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 24 prospect in Virginia and the No. 81 wide receiver nationally. "He's a guy that knows how to get open," Friedman said. "He's not the fastest, but he's got some shake and great hands, and is a very reliable guy." Top Targets: UVa remains in the top two or three for Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman's J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, who visited Charlottesville in June. Rivals.com rates Arcega- Whiteside as a three-star recruit, the No. 9 player in the Palmetto State and the No. 62 wide receiver in the land. The top competition here appears to be Michigan State and Stanford. Another player the Cavaliers are after is technically an athlete but projects to receiver — Stafford (Va.) Colonial Forge standout Gary Jennings, who continues to take his time with his recruitment. He is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 38 player in Virginia by Rivals.com, and has a top five of Boston College, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. TIGHT END Need: 1-2 Commitments: 2 — Tanner Cowley, Manasquan (N.J.) High; and Richard Burney, Chesapeake (Va.) Hickory. Cow- ley (6-4, 210), a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com, could end up playing linebacker or even defensive end at the college level, but he'll get his first shot at tight end once he arrives in Charlottesville next year. The unrated Burney (6-4, 230) could also serve as a long snapper for UVa in the future. Top Targets: At this point, UVa appears to be done with the position, though the Cavaliers continue to target sev- eral players that could line up at tight end in the future but are being recruited primarily at other positions. OFFENSIVE LINE Need: 4 Commitments: 3 — Ryan Bischoff, Plymouth Meeting (Pa.) Plymouth Whiteside; Grant Polk, Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte; and RJ Proctor, Bealeton (Va.) Liberty. Among this group, the Cavaliers have a guard and two tackles. The 6-5, 292-pound Polk, a tackle who will enroll early, is the highest rated at three stars, though Friedman sees a lot of potential in the 6-4, 320-pound Proctor. "He's a big guy who can do a lot of different things," he said of Proctor. "Run blocking is his thing, but as he faces more pass rushers he's going to improve there. I expect him to get a lot stronger by the time he comes to camp." Rivals.com lists Proctor and Bischoff (6-5, 305) as two-star recruits. Top Targets: UVa continues to recruit several quality players on the offensive line, including four-star Wood- bridge ( Va.) C.D. Hylton standout Matthew Burrell Jr., though the SEC schools appear to have the inside track. Burrell Jr. is ranked as the No. 7 offensive guard and No. 147 overall player in the nation by Rivals.com. UVa is also after three-star Brooksville (Fla.) Nature Coast Rivals.com rates UVa commit David Eldridge of Nokesville (Va.) Kettle Run as the No. 24 pros- pect in Virginia and the No. 81 wide receiver in the country. PHOTO BY BRAD FRANKLIN
